Okafor comes back to Arecibo

Jahlil Okafor

Capitanes de Arecibo (BSN) added to their roster 29-year old USA-Nigerian center Jahlil Okafor (211cm-115kg-1995, college: Duke). It is actually his comeback to Capitanes as he has played here before. He just played at Indiana Pacers in the NBA. But in only one game he did not score anything and had only 1 rebound and 1 assist.
In 2015 he was drafted by Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) as #3 pick overall. The former Duke University standout is in his tenth season in pro basketball.
He represented USA at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2025 years ago. During this event he scored an average of 9 points per game and had 4.7 rebounds per game.
Okafor is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit four different continents. He tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America. Okafor has played previously professionally in China (Guangsha Lions), Spain (Zaragoza), NBA (New Orleans Pelicans, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons and Brooklyn Nets) and NBA G League (Capitanes de Ciudad de Mexico).
Among many awards Okafor's team won Puerto Rican BSN Group A Regular Season in 2024. He was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Honorable Mention back in 2022.
On Okafor: A talented, strong inside player. Polished in the post and active on the glass. Allows to create a formidable inside-out game with the perimeter players.
