Akaraiwe is back at FAP de Yaounde

FAP de Yaounde (D1) signed 28-year old Nigerian ex-international forward Nkem Akaraiwe (185cm-1996) for upcoming 2025 season. It is actually her comeback to Yaounde as she has played here before. She played last summer at Kenya Ports Authority in Kenyan Premier League. In 5 African Women Basketball League games she had 13.6ppg, 7.6rpg and 2.4apg. She also played for FAP de Yaounde.
Akaraiwe represented Nigeria at the World Championship (FIBA World Cup) in Tenerife (Spain) seven years ago. During this event she scored an average of points per game and had rebounds per game.
She has played also in Spain (Andratx), Nigeria (Customs and First Bank) and Spain. Akaraiwe won Cameroonian League championship title in 2024.
Among many awards she was voted Afrobasket.com All-Nigerian League Player of the Year and Afrobasket.com Nigerian League All-Tournament Team back in 2022.
