Napoli lands John Egbunu

John Egbunu

Gevi Napoli Basket (Serie A) tabbed 30-year old Nigerian ex-international 211cm center John Egbunu (college: Florida). He played recently at Rio Breogan in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 5 games he averaged 5.4ppg and 2.2rpg this season. He also played for Sharks (CBA) in Chinese league. Egbunu was a member of Nigerian Senior National Team back in 2020.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in ten different countries playing on three different continents. Egbunu is familiar with European, Asian and of course North American leagues. He has played previously professionally in China (Rockets), France (ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne Basket), Israel (Hapoel Jerusalem), Turkey (Gaziantep), NBA (Brooklyn Nets), Italy (Openjobmetis Varese), South Korea (Sonicboom), NBA G League (Long Island Nets) and NBA Summer League (Minnesota Timberwolves).
His team won Turkish U19 League Group A Regular Season in 2023.
Egbunu graduated from University of Florida in 2018 and it is his seventh season in pro basketball. He played also for University of South Florida for one year.
