Rio Breogan tabs John Egbunu

John Egbunu

Leche Rio Breogan Lugo (Liga Endesa) inked 30-year old Nigerian ex-international 211cm center John Egbunu (college: Florida). He already started the season at Shanghai Sharks in Chinese CBA league. In 5 games he averaged just 2.8ppg and 2.0rpg. The last season season he played at another Chinese team Rockets (also in CBA). He also played for ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne Basket (Betclic ELITE ProA) in French league. Egbunu was a member of Nigerian Senior National Team in 2020.
He is a very experienced player. Egbunu has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to nine different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in France, Israel (Hapoel Jerusalem), Italy (Openjobmetis Varese), Turkey (Gaziantep), NBA (Brooklyn Nets), South Korea (Sonicboom), NBA G League (Long Island Nets) and NBA Summer League (Minnesota Timberwolves).
His team won Turkish U19 League Group A Regular Season in 2023.
Egbunu graduated from University of Florida in 2018 and it is his seventh season in pro basketball. He played also for University of South Florida for one year.
