Ifunanya Okoro (ex Iraklis) joins Sporting

Alexandria Sporting Club (Superleague) agreed terms with 25-year old Nigerian international guard Ifunanya Okoro (183cm-1999). She already started the season at Iraklis in Greek A1 league. In 7 games she had 11.3ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.7apg and 1.9spg. She also played 1 game in Eurocup where she recorded just 2 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. The last season season she played at U.M.F. Tindastoll (Division I) in Icelandic league.
Okoro has been also a member of the Nigerian international program for some years. She has regularly played for the Nigerian senior team since 2023 and previously for the Under 17 National Team back in 2016.
Okoro also represented Nigeria at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) this year. During this event she scored an average of points per game and had rebounds per game.
She is quite experienced player. Okoro has played also in Iceland, Kenya (Kenya Ports Authority) and Nigeria (First Bank, First Deepwater and MFM Queens). She played in the final of Icelandic D1 Playoff in 2024.
Among many awards she was voted to Afrobasket.com All-African Champions Cup Honorable Mention back in 2019.
