Taipei Taishin Mars (TPBL) agreed terms with experienced 36-year old Nigerian international center Micheal Eric (211cm-109kg-1988, college: Temple). He already started the season at Ahly Tripoli in Libyan D1 league. The last season summer he played at Halcones Rojos in Mexican LNBP where in 8 games he had 7.9ppg and 5.9rpg.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016. Eric has been regularly called to the Nigerian Senior National Team since 2019.
He is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in nine different countries. Eric tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Greece (AEK Betsson and Panelefsiniakos), Italy (Brindisi), Mexico, Russia (PBC CSKA Moscow), Spain (Baskonia, Unicaja and Surne Bilbao), Turkey (Darussafaka Lassa and Turk Telekom), NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks), South Korea (Sonicboom) and NBA G League (Texas Legends and Cleveland Charge). Eric played in the final of Korean KBL in 2024.
Among many awards he was voted to USBasket.com D-League All-Defensive Team back in 2016.
He is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at Taipei Taishin Mars.
He graduated from Temple University in 2012 and it is his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season as a professional player.
