Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem (Winner League) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) 205cm power forward Derek Ogbeide (college: Georgia). Ogbeide already started the season at Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana in Slovenian Liga Nova KBM. In 5 games he recorded 4.0ppg and 2.4rpg. He also played 6 games in ABA League where he averaged 5.5ppg and 2.8rpg.
Ogbeide is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Cyprus (AEK Larnaca), Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki), Italy (Pistoia and Rimini), Turkey (Konyaspor) and Israel (Hapoel Eilat). His team was regular season runner-up in Cyprus League in 2020 and 2021.
Among many awards he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Italian Serie A2 Honorable Mention in 2023.
Ogbeide graduated from University of Georgia in 2019 and it is his sixth season in pro basketball.
