Gladiators keep Onwas for another season

Princeton Onwas

Caledonia Gladiators (SLB) re-signed 30-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) 197cm forward Princeton Onwas (college: SJSU) for new season. He has played there for the last two seasons. He managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). The team played in four different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 35 SLB games he averaged 6.8ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.9apg. Onwas also played 6 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he had 6.3ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.0apg. And finally he recorded 1 game in Basketball Champions League where he got just 2 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist.
In 2017, a year after graduating, he was drafted by the Westchester Knicks (G-League) in the third round (57th overall).
He graduated from San Jose State University in 2016 and it'll be his ninth season in pro basketball.
Onwas has traveled quite extensively during his pro career, playing for teams in Europe, Australia, and North America. He has previously played professionally for the Capitals and South West Metro Pirates in Australia, Coburg in Germany, and Jairis in Spain.
Among many awards, Onwas' team made it to the British BBL Cup Final Four in 2023. Onwas was voted to Eurobasket.com British BBL All-Defensive Team in 2023. He played for other colleges like the University of Utah and Navarro College.
