Avery Ugba (ex Cherno More) joins CS Municipal Ploiesti

Avery Ugba

CS Municipal Ploiesti (Liga Nationala) agreed terms with 29-year old Nigerian forward Avery Ugba (203cm-102kg-1994, college: Austin Peay, agency: BIG) for the new 2024-25 season. He has played for the last two years at Cherno More in the Bulgarian NBL league. In 32 games, he had very impressive stats: 17.8ppg, 10.3rpg (leader!!!), 1.6apg, and 1.2spg last season. It was a good year for him as he was named League Player of the Week (2 times) and named to Eurobasket.com All-Bulgarian NBL Second Team.
He is a quite experienced player. Ugba has played professionally in France (Andrezieux), Switzerland (Pully), and Ukraine (Khimik and Ternopil-TNEU).
In 2020, his team reached the Ukrainian final. In 2023, he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Bulgarian League Honorable Mention.
Ugba graduated from Austin Peay State University in 2018 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player. He played for other colleges such as Grambling State University and Richard Bland College.
