GS Ermis Shimatariou welcomes back Ugochukwu

Stephen Ugochukwu

GS Ermis Shimatariou (Elite League) landed 28-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) 201cm forward Stephen Ugochukwu (college: McNeese State) for new season. It is actually his comeback to GS Ermis Shimatariou as he has played here before. Ugochukwu was about to sign at Odilo FC Cartagena CB in Spanish Primera FEB.
He is a very experienced player. Ugochukwu has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally also in Cyprus (Paralimni), Mexico (Soles), Qatar (Al Ahli Sports Club Doha), Sweden (Sodertalje), Greece (Maroussi), NBA G League (Texas Legends and NAZ Suns) and Spain (Navarra and Cantabria). His team made it to the Greek Elite League Semifinals in 2024.
Among many awards he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Cyprus League Honorable Mention in 2023.
Ugochukwu attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on he way to pro basketball.
He graduated from McNeese State in 2018 and it is his seventh season in pro basketball.
