Bay City Blaze tabbed 28-year old former Nigerian-American international 6-4 power forward Oderah Chidom (college: Duke). It is actually her comeback to Blaze as she has played here before. Chidom played most recently at Passalacqua Ragusa in Italian Serie A1. In 28 games she averaged impressive 15.1ppg, 8.1rpg, 2.2apg and 1.1spg last season. She helped them to make it to the semifinals. Chidom can count that season as a very successful as was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Italian Serie A1 Center of the Year, voted to All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week (3 times).
In 2017 she was drafted by Atlanta Dream (WNBA) in third round (31st overall).
She graduated from Duke University and it will be her eighth season in pro basketball.
Chidom also represented Nigeria at the Olympic Games in Tokyo (Japan) three years ago. Her stats at that event were 3 games: 8.0ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.3apg, FGP-2(69.2%), 3PT: 16.7%.
She is a very experienced player. Chidom has played also professionally in Belarus (BC Minsk), France (Hainaut and Angers), Greece (Dafni Agioy) and Slovenia (Celje). She played in the final of ACC Tournament in 2014 and 2017.
Among many awards she received Eurobasket.com All-Belarusian League Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-Belarusian League Import Player of the Year award back in 2020.
