Nigeria overcame Senegal 72-65 after a strong last period at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying tournament. They finished the gam with a 23-8 surge to post the first win. Senegal led 9 points at the halftime and enjoyed 57-49 advantage after three quarters. Lauren Ebo (193-C-2000, college: Notre Dame) reduced to 57-51, whilst Promise Amukamara gave Nigeria lead at 60-57. Amy Okonkwo (188-F-1996, college: TCU) made two free throws at the end of the game for the final success.
Amy Okonkwo top-scored for the winners with 21 points and Lauren Ebo as well as Sarah Ogoke (175-G-1990, college: SPSU) had 11 each. Yacine Diop (178-G/F-1995, college: Louisville) replied with 23 points in a loss, whilst Cierra Dillard (176-G-1996, college: Buffalo) poured in 16.
