Sporting continued unbeaten run at the 2023 FIBA Africa Women's Basketball League. They overcame Customs 96-57 dominating the whole game. Sporting started with a 20-18 run and added a 23-14 rally in the second period. Moreover, the hosts nailed 31 points in the last stanza for the final success.
Hagar Amer (184-F-1993) top-scored for the winners with 26 points and 11 rebounds, whilst Fatou Diagne (193-C-1996, college: Houston) and Destiny Pitts (178-G-1999, college: Texas A&M) had 16 each. Nkem Akaraiwe (185-F-1996) and Olaoluwatomi Taiwo (2000) replied with 14 points each in the losing effort.
