Girona land Ike Iroegbu

Newly promoted Basquet Girona (Liga Endesa) landed 28-year old Nigerian ex-international 188cm point guard Ike Iroegbu (college: WSU) for upcoming season. Iroegbu is the second foreign player in the roster as Serbian Stefan Djordjevic signed here earlier.
He played most recently at Nutribullet Treviso Basket in Italian Serie A. In 28 games he averaged impressive 16.4ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.7apg last season. It was a very successful year in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Italian SerieA Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week.
The previous (2021-22) season he played at Galil Elion in Israeli Winner League where in 30 games he had 14.3ppg, 3.7rpg and 3.6apg in that year. He can count that season as a very successful as was invited to participate in the Israeli League All-Star Game Slam Dunk Contest, All-Star Game 3-Point Shootout and to the Israeli League All-Star Game. He also played 13 games in Balkan League where he recorded 9.4ppg, 2.8rpg and 3.7apg in that year. Iroegbu helped them to win the Balkan League championship.
He represented Nigeria at the Afrobasket Championship six years ago. Iroegbu's team won Silver and his stats at that event were 6 games: 14.8ppg, 4.5rpg, Assists-1 (5.0apg), FGP: 50.0%, 3PT: 20.8%, FT: 74.3%.
Iroegbu is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in France (Chalon/Saor and SPO Rouen), Germany (Science City Jena and Rasta Vechta), Lithuania (Lietkabelis), NBA (Sacramento Kings) and NBA G League (Ontario Clippers and Capital City Go-Go).
Iroegbu graduated from Washington State University in 2017 and it will be his seventh season in pro basketball.
