Landerneau Bretagne Basket (LFB) agreed terms with 26-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) forward Amy Okonkwo (188cm-1996, college: TCU) for upcoming 2023-24 season. Okonkwo joins another USA player Nausia Woolfolk who is already in the roster.
She played this summer at Halcones in Mexican LNBPF. In 12 games just recently she had very impressive stats: 23.4ppg, 7.7rpg, 1.7apg and 2.1spg. The last season she played at Maccabi Haifa in Israeli D1 where in 22 games she recorded also remarkable stats: 21.5ppg, 8.7rpg, 1.7apg and 2.2spg. She helped them to make it to the cup final. 2022-23 was a great season as she was named to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Honorable Mention.
She also represented Nigeria at the Olympic Games in Tokyo (Japan) two years ago. Her stats at that event were 3 games: 2.7ppg, 1.0rpg.
Okonkwo has played previously professionally in Spain (Zamarat and Leganes) and France (Hainaut).
She was voted All-Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year back in 2018.
Okonkwo graduated from Texas Christian University in 2019 and it will be her fifth season as a professional player. She played also for University of Southern California for one year.
