Gunma Crane Thunders tab Ben Bentil

Gunma Crane Thunders (B1 League) inked 28-year old American (has also Ghanian passport) 204cm power forward Ben Bentil (college: Providence) for upcoming season. Bentil played most recently at Crvena Zvezda in Serbian KLS league. He managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). The team played in three different competitions that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In two KLS games he averaged 11.0ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.0apg. Bentil helped them to win the league title. He also played 30 games in Euroleague where he had 8.4ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.1apg. And finally he contributed to 29 games in ABA League where he recorded 8.7ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.2apg.
The previous (2021-22) season he played at AX Armani Exchange Milano in Italian Serie A. In 29 games he got 9.1ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.1apg in that year. Bentil contributed to his team winning the league title and the cup. He also played 23 games in Euroleague where he got 5.6ppg and 2.4rpg in that year. Bentil contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals. The other team he played that season for was Acibadem in Turkish BSL. In 8 games he got 12.0ppg, 4.4rpg and 2.3apg in that year. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week. He also played 4 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he got 14.8ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.5spg in that year.
In 2016 he was drafted by Boston Celtics (NBA) in second round (51st overall). Bentil graduated from Providence College and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball.
He is a very experienced player. Bentil has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to six different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in China (Flying Tigers), France (Chalons Reims), Greece (Peristeri and Panathinaikos), Spain (Bilbao), NBA (Dallas Mavericks and Indiana Pacers) and NBA G League (Fort Wayne Mad Ants).
Among many awards he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Greek A1 Newcomer of the Year back in 2019.
