Cape Verde have won their opener at the FIBA AfroBasket Invitational tournament as they edged Chad 90-73. They grabbed a 23-17 lead early in the first period and added massive 21-10 surge in the second quarter. Both teams exchanged the wins in the second half for the final result.
Fidel Mendonca (191-F-84) stepped up with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Da Rosa finished the game with 18 points, while Anderson Correira notched 15 points. Ronald Kolmia relied with 24 points and Francis Mamadjibeye (187-SG-90) had 17 points.
