Tunisia - Kenya 76-82 OT
Kenya rallied past Tunisia to reach the semis. Tunisia grabbed a 36:33 halftime lead. But Kenya used a 20:10 run in the third term to surge ahead. Tunisia stooped the bleeding in the fourth quarter and managed to force overtime. But Kenya drained 14 points in the extra period to ice the victory. Griffin Ligare (174-G-85) posted 22 points, while Tom Wamukota (211-C-93, college: Wichita St.) added 21 points and 14 rebounds for Kenya. Jawhar Jawadi (189-F-97) responded with 18 points for Tunisia.
Angola - Algeria 89-62
Angola stormed past Algeria to reach the semifinals in Bamako. Angola recorded a 50:32 halftime lead. Angola kept Algeria at bay throughout the second half and rolled to the victory. Carlos Cabral (188-G-95) and Edson Ndoniema (191-G-91) posted 13 points each for Angola. Zakaria Guezout (200-F-92) and Touhami Ghezzoul (209-C-87, college: N.Dakota St. JC) had 11 points apiece in the loss.
DR Congo - Chad 67-60
DR Congo defeated Chad to enter Final Four. Chad eked out a 36:35 halftime lead. DR Congo however limited Chad to just 24 points in the second half to snatch the win. Rolly Fula (198-F-93) accounted for 21 points, while Maxi Munanga (191-G-93) added 14 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds for DR Congo. Ronald Nato (199-F-92) answered with 15 points for Chad.
Mali - Morocco 61-69
Morocco upset hosting Mali in the quarterfinal clash. Morocco jumped to a 21:13 lead after ten minutes. They used a 19:14 run in the third term to take an 8-point lead. Morocco maintained the advantage throughout the fourth term and raced to the victory. Soufiane Kourdou (211-C-85) posted 18 points, while Abdelhakim Zouita (200-F-86) had 15 points for Morocco. Mamadou Keita replied with 14 points for Mali.
