Kenya - Ivory Coast 85-83
Kenya held off Ivory Coast to advance into the quarterfinal stage. Kenya trailed by one point at the interval 43:44. Ivory Coast boosted the lead to 3 points at the final intermission. Kenya though sank 25 points in the fourth term and snatched the win. Tylor Ongwae (201-F-91, college: ULM) posted 24 points and 10 rebounds to pace the charge. Ronald Gombe (203-PF-92) added 18 points and 10 rebounds for Kenya. Romeo Enan (208-F/C-93) and Kouadio Kouadio (189-G-90) tossed in 20 points each for Ivory Coast.

Egypt - Chad 95-98 OT
Chad reached the quarterfinal stage as they nipped Egypt in overtime. Egypt dominated in the first half. They recorded a 45:34 halftime lead. But Chad dropped 48 points in the second half to force overtime. They added 16 points in the extra period to snatch the win. Michael Koibe (198-F/G-92) banked in 28 points and 13 rebounds for Chad. Bienvenu Djimassal (200-C-93) added 17 points and 12 rebounds in the win. Ebrahem Khaled (191-G/F-89) and Moustafa Elmekawi (204-F/C-94) responded with 15 points each for Egypt.

Morocco - Guinea 86-52
Morocco cruised past Guinea to enter quarterfinals. Morocco built a 50:31 halftime lead. They followed with a 23:7 run in the fourth term to ice the win. Jihad Benchlikha (186-SG-92) netted 14 points, while Abdelhakim Zouita (200-F-86) notched 12 points for Morocco. Cedric Mansare (198-F-85) answered with 22 points for Guinea.

Algeria - Nigeria 84-80
Algeria reached the quarterfinal stage as they topped Nigeria in Round of 16. Nigeria eked out a 43:39 halftime lead. They entered the fourth term up by five points. But Algeria triggered a 25:16 run in the fourth term to snatch the victory. Abdellah Hamdini (200-F-92) notched 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists, while Omar Belliche (204-F/C-92) added 21 points for Algeria. Abdul Yahaya (203-F-90) replied with 26 points and 9 rebounds for Nigeria.
