Angola nipped Egypt to gain 2-1 record in Group B. Egypt led by four points after ten minutes. But Angola responded with a 28-21 run in the next two periods to spur ahead. Angola protected a narrow lead throughout the fourth period and rallied to the win. Abraem Mateus (2006) produced 17 points, while Aginaldo Neto (185-G-2006) added 13 points for Angola. Mohammed Hussin (192-G-2006) answered with 13 points for Egypt. Cameroon - Senegal 56-72 Senegal outgunned Cameroon to finish in the second place in Group A. Cameroon led by four points after ten minutes. But Senegal went on a 45-30 second half rally to seal the win. El Hadji Diahame (201-F/C-2006) posted 15 points for Senegal. Dan Ejenguele (195-SG-2006) answered with 17 points for Cameroon. Uganda - Nigeria 61-72 Nigeria outscored Uganda to improve at 2-1 record in Group B. Nigeria jumped to a 40-26 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 16-point mark at the final intermission and never looked back en route to the win. Azeez Sulaimon (2006) scored 20 points and made 8 steals to pace the winners. Mukisa Mubiru-Nkugwa (2006) answered with 17 points for Uganda. Mali - Ivory Coast 73-69 Mali rallied past Ivory Coast to record the third straight win in South Africa. Mali led by just a point at halftime 34-33. They went on a 24-16 run in the third term to take a 9-point advantage. Ivory Coast narrowed the gap in the fourth term but could not avoid the loss. Mamadou Diarra (2007) scored 18 points, while Ibrahim Doumbia had 15 points for the winners. Gomis-Matheo Boedi (2006) answered with 15 points for Ivory Coast. |
