Uganda - Egypt 50-73
Egypt fired past Uganda for the second straight win in South Africa. Egypt dominated from start to finish. They produced a 33-26 halftime advantage. Egypt followed with a 26-11 rally in the fourth frame to ice the victory. Omar Aboelmagd (2006) came up with 15 points for Egypt. Uganda answered with 11 points from Brighton Galiwango (2006).

Cameroon - Mali 58-62
Mali registered the second straight win in Group A. They outlasted Cameroon to stay perfect. Cameroon eked out a 31-30 halftime lead. They stretched the margin to 2 points heading into the fourth frame. But Mali answered with a 20-14 run in the final period to snatch the win. Sekou Bagayoko (2008) tossed in 22 points for Mali. Gregory Kemet (190-PG-2008) nailed 18 points for Cameroon.

Senegal - Ivory Coast 69-63
Senegal held off Ivory Coast to open win count in Group A. Ivory Coast led by six points after ten minutes. But Senegal used a strong 26-18 rally in the fourth period to snatch a tough win at the end. Ousseynou Sambe (208-C-2006) tallied 25 points and 12 rebounds for Senegal. Theo Chaney (192-G-2006) had 14 points for Ivory Coast.

Nigeria - Angola 70-65
Nigeria outscored Angola for the first win in Group B. Nigeria recorded a 32-24 halftime lead. Angola went on a 25-15 run in the third term to sour ahead. But Nigeria poured in 23 points in the fourth quarter and got away with the crucial win. Isaac Ezekiel (2007) tossed in 21 points, while Azeez Sulaimon (2006) had 20 points and 10 steals for Nigeria. Abraem Mateus (2006) answered with 14 points for Angola.
