Mali, Madagascar, Egypt and Angola enter semifinals

Benin - Mali 46-106
Mali stormed past Benin to enter the semifinal stage. Mali piled up a 48-24 halftime lead. They unleashed 58 points in the second half and marched to the victory. Mahamadou Diarra (205-F/C-2005) accounted for 24 points and 17 rebounds, while Amadou Doumbia (208-C-2005) added 21 points for Mali. Madjidi Tanimou (189-F-2005) answered with 8 points for Benin.

Guinea - Madagascar 47-59
Madagascar outlasted Guinea to stay in the title race. The hosts posted a 31-21 halftime lead. They held Guinea to just 26 points in the second half and marched towards victory. Mathias M'Madi (194-G-2005) connected for 28 points, while Jerry Rabibisoa (203-C-2004) added 9 points and 15 rebounds for Madagascar. Ibrahima Diallo (170-PG-2004) chipped in 20 points for Guinea.

Algeria - Egypt 50-58
Egypt outscored Algeria to seal their semifinal ticket. Algeria eked out a 30-28 halftime lead. Egypt denied the deficit in the third term. They tied things up at 41 heading into the fourth quarter. Egypt then ignited a 17-9 run in the final period to seal the win. Ibrahim Zahran (194-F-2004) notched 13 points, while Belal Elshakary banked in 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Mehdi Bouhmama (2004) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds for Algeria.

Angola - Senegal 67-64
Angola beat Senegal to reach the semifinal round in Madagascar. Angola piled up a 29-13 lead ten minutes into the game. Senegal pulled within five points at the final break. They got within striking distance in the fourth period but could not avoid the loss. Marcelo Joao (2004) provided 22 points, while Aloisio Andrade (200-C-2004) added 12 points for Angola. Ousmane Ndiaye (210-SF-2004) responded with 19 points and 11 boards for Senegal.
