Group AMadagascar - Senegal 62-70Senegal overcame Madagascar to improve at 3-0 record in Group A. Madagascar posted a 36-31 halftime lead. Senegal however responded with a 39-26 second half rally to ice the win. Mouhamed Faye (206-C-2005) delivered 26 points and 15 rebounds, while Ousmane Ndiaye (210-SF-2004) added 18 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Mathias M'Madi (194-G-2005) notched 18 points for Madagascar. Algeria - Benin 85-50 Algeria outscored Benin to claim the initial win. Algeria recorded a 55-28 halftime advantage. They held Benin to just 22 points in the second half and raced to the victory. Chakib Sedoud (2004) notched 19 points, while Zayd Yahiaoui (2004) added 17 points for Algeria. Madjidi Tanimou (189-F-2005) answered with 18 points for Benin. Group BGuinea - Mali 39-74Mali earned the third victory in Madagascar. They crushed Guinea to earn the first position in the ladder. Mali accumulated a 34-15 halftime lead. They sank 40 points in the second half to ease to the victory. Abdramane Kanoute (196-G-2004) notched 22 points, while Amadou Doumbia (208-C-2005) added 14 points for the winners. Ibrahima Sanoh (C-2004) replied with 11 points for Guinea. Angola - Rwanda 66-55 Angola topped Rwanda for the second victory in Group B. Angola clinched a 35-24 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 18-point mark at the final break. Rwanda cut the deficit in the fourth frame but could not avoid the loss. Aloisio Andrade (200-C-2004) tallied 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Eduardo Simao (2004) had 15 points for the winners.
