DR Congo - Mali 57-107
Mali stumped DR Congo to gain the fifth straight win in Group A. Mali recorded a 52:27 halftime lead. They unloaded 55 points in the second half to cruise to the victory. Siriman Kanoute (176-G-01) notched 18 points for Mali. Abdramane Camara (205-PF-00) and Amadou Toure (202-PF-00) added 12 points each for Mali. Pierre Kasereka (180-SF-01) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds for DR Congo.

Libya - Guinea 66-64
Libya nipped Guinea for the second win in Group A. Libya eked out 34:33 halftime lead. They stretched the advantage at 2-point mark heading into the fourth frame. Libya held on to a slim lead throughout the fourth quarter and rallied to the victory. Adrees Zeew (198-F-00) notched 27 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Moussa Kourouma (183-SG-01) provided 15 points for Guinea.

Egypt - Uganda 83-66
Egypt finished second in Group A as they topped Uganda for the fourth win at the championship. Egypt recorded a 41:27 halftime lead. Egypt unloaded 26 points in the fourth quarter to race to the win. Momen Hassan (195-F/G-01) delivered 24 points, while Ibrahim Ibrahim (193-F-00) added 12 points in the victory. Fayed Baale (173-PG-01) replied with 26 points for Uganda.

Group B
Rwanda - Senegal 70-99
Senegal cruised past Rwanda for the fourth straight win in Bamako. Senegal dominated from start to finish. They established a 53:27 halftime advantage. They sank 46 points in the second half to ease to the victory. Biram Faye (206-C-00) stepped up with 26 points and 17 rebounds in the win. Elias Ngoga (208-C-01) responded with 15 points for Rwanda.

Algeria - Tunisia 78-84 2OT
Tunisia survived a double-overtime marathon to beat Algeria for the first win in Group B. Algeria led by six points at the first break. But Tunisia denied the deficit in the next quarters. The teams teamed up for 8 points in the first extra period and did not decide on the winner. But Tunisia sank 8 points in the second overtime to snatch the win. Yacine Toumi (204-F/C-00) came up with 18 points and 10 rebounds, whilst Houssem Mahemly (190-G-00) added 18 points for Tunisia. Elias Rahal (184-SG-00) answered with 21 points for Algeria.
