Group A
Uganda - Libya 57-60
Libya nipped Uganda to take the first win at the tournament. Uganda led by three points at the first break. But Libya denied the deficit to take a 30:28 halftime lead. Libya held Uganda to just 12 points in the fourth quarter and eked out the win. Adrees Zeew (198-F-00) posted 24 points to lead the winners. Mohammed Alharari (180-G-00) added 14 points for Libya. Fayed Baale (173-PG-01) answered with 19 points for Uganda.

Guinea - DR Congo 74-85
DR Congo toppled Guinea to improve at 3-0 record in Group A. Guinea led by 10 points at the interval 39:29. But DR Congo responded with a 30:18 run in the third term to take a 2-point lead. They went on a 26:17 run in the final period to secure the winning outcome. Pierre Kasereka (180-SF-01) delivered 29 points and 8 assists for DR Congo. Heritier Ngalamulume (202-C-00) added 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Rogerio Mara (194-SF-00) replied with 23 points for Guinea.

Mali - Egypt 93-47
Mali outgunned Egypt to improve at 3-0 record in Group A. The hosts used a 29:12 run in the second frame to take a 21-point halftime lead. Mali went on a 23:7 run in the third term to clear off for good. Moubarraq Diabate (182-SF-01) produced 17 points, while Siriman Kanoute (176-G-01) and Oumar Ballo (208-C-02) had 13 points each for the winners. Momen Hassan (195-F/G-01) replied with 8 points for Egypt.

Group B
Rwanda - Angola 79-80
Angola nipped Rwanda for the first win in Bamako. Angola led throughout the first half. They secured a 39:31 halftime advantage. Rwanda cut the deficit at 4-point mark at the final break. Rwanda sank 30 points in the fourth quarter but could not save the game. Selton Miguel (194-F-00) and Pascoal Konde (186-G-00) provided 13 points each for the winners. Elias Ngoga (208-C-01) and Emile Kazeneza (201-SG-00) posted 18 points each for Rwanda.

Senegal - Algeria 70-50
Senegal raced past Algeria for the second consecutive win in Group B. Biram Faye (206-C-00) came up with 14 points and 20 boards for Senegal. They piled up a 35:24 halftime lead. Senegal went on a 23:12 run in the final term to secure a comfortable win. Amar Sylla (206-C-01) produced 13 points for the winning side. Adel Yazizain (195-PF-00) and Abdelmalek Benzidoun (192-SG-01) replied with 11 points each for Algeria.
