Uganda - Mali 55-112
Mali breezed past Uganda to record the second straight win in Bamako. The hosts looked dominant right from the start. They posted a 29:15 lead after ten minutes. Mali established a 55:29 halftime lead. They unloaded 57 points in the second half to cruise to the victory. Oumar Ballo (208-C-02) and Abdoul Coulibaly (204-F-00) accounted for 17 points each for the winners. Livingstone Kimambo (188-SF-00) replied with 23 points for Uganda.
Guinea - Egypt 61-111
Egypt secured the second straight win in Bamako. They crushed Guinea in Group A today. Egypt established a 54:22 halftime lead and never looked back en route to a convincing victory. Ziad Sakr (195-SG-01) scored 26 points to lead the winners. Yassin Hussein (205-C-00) added 22 points for Egypt. Guinea responded with 18 points from Rogerio Mara (194-SF-00).
DR Congo - Libya 73-69
DR Congo held off Libya to take 2-0 record in Group A. They went on a 21:8 run to open the game. Libya denied the deficit in the next two quarters and tied things up 53 at the final break. DR Congo sank 20 points in the fourth frame to race to the win. Pierre Kasereka (180-SF-01) notched 18 points, while Kevin Keliki (208-C-00) added 17 points and 17 rebounds for the winning side. Mohammed Alharari (180-G-00) provided 22 points for Libya.
Group B
Angola - Senegal 76-77
Senegal opened win count in Group B. They nipped Angola in the opener. Biram Faye (206-C-00) posted 18 points to lead the charge. Angola piled up a 49:34 halftime advantage. But Senegal held Angola to just 27 points in the second half to snatch a tough win. Cheikh Diop (202-F-01) tallied 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Pascoal Konde (186-G-00) answered with 18 points for Angola.
Tunisia - Rwanda 58-62
Rwanda overcame Tunisia for the second win in a row in Bamako. Tunisia led by a single point at halftime 26:25. They stretched the lead at 2-point mark at the final break. But Rwanda answered with a 25:19 rally in the fourth stanza to ensure the winning outcome. Jean Umuhoza (175-PG-01) had 19 points, while Emile Kazeneza (201-SG-00) added 14 points for Rwanda. Yacine Toumi (204-F/C-00) replied with 15 points for Tunisia.
