Egypt celebrated the first ever AfroBasket U16 title. They held off Ivory Coast in the title game in Rwanda tonight. Egypt recorded a 22-13 lead after the first period. Ivory Coast held their opponents to just 7 points to tie things up at 29. Egypt restored the lead with a massive 24-8 rally in the third term. Ivory Coast tried hard to come back into the game but came up short at the end. Joudi Elsayed (182-G-2009) finished with 15 points, while Dana Abdalaa (2013) added 12 points for Egypt. Jane Diomande (2009) responded with 24 points and 10 rebounds for Ivory Coast.
3-4 Place
Cameroon - Mali 55-53

Cameroon nipped Mali to step onto the pedestal in Rwanda as they celebrated the Bronze medals. Mali used a 24-3 rally in the third term to take a 16-point lead. But Cameroon bounced back with a furious 24-6 rally in the fourth period to snatch the win. Marie Samnick (181-F-2010) and Marie Messina (170-F-2009) posted 13 points each for Cameroon. Mariya Diawara (2009) answered with 21 points for Mali.
