Mali celebrated Gold in Mozambique. They cruised past Angola in the championship game. Aissetou Coulibaly (175-G/F-01) stepped up with another MVP performance as she tallied 25 points and 6 steals for the champions. Mali dominated from start to finish. They recorded a 33:15 halftime lead. They held Angola to just 14 points in the second half and eased to the victory. Sika Kone (02) produced 15 points and 9 boards in the win. Alexia Dizeko (175-G/F-01) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds for Angola.
3-4 Place
Mozambique - Egypt 38-56
Egypt stepped onto the pedestal in Mozambique. They crushed the hosts in the consolation final today. Jana Abdullah (182-C-01) scored 16 points to lead the winners. Egypt recorded a 23:19 halftime lead. They followed with a 20:9 rally in the third term to clear off for good. Habiba Elgizawy (169-G-01) had 15 points and 7 steals in the victory. Sandra Magolico (02) replied with 9 points for Mozambique.


Angola and Mali to clash for title in Mozambique - Aug 11, 2017

Egypt - Angola 42-59
Angola entered the title game in Mozambique. They prevailed against Egypt to set up the clash versus Mali for the trophy. Cristina Lourenco (164-G-01) posted 16 points to lead the winning side. Angola used a 25:10 run in the second frame to take a 36:17 halftime advantage. They kept Egypt at bay throughout the second half and marched to the victory. Cacia Antonio (162-G-01) had 12 points in the win. Habiba Elgizawy (169-G-01) recorded 15 points for Egypt.

Mali - Mozambique 63-39
Mali cruised past Mozambique in the semifinal clash today. Aissetou Coulibaly (175-G/F-01) posted 17 points to lead the winners. Mali recorded a 31:21 halftime lead. They followed with a 15:5 run in the third term to clear off for good. Kadidia Coulibaly (01) and Diarrah Sissoko (02) had 9 points each for the winners. Jennifer Sigauque (01) replied with 11 points for Mozambique.

Mali recorded the fourth straight win at the tournament. They edged Angola to finish on top of preliminary round standings. Aissetou Coulibaly (175-G/F-01) produced 19 points and 6 assists to lead the winners. Mali recorded a 29:14 halftime lead. They protected the lead throughout the second half and raced to the win. Mali posted the third consecutive win in Mozambique. They upset the hosts to remain undefeated. Aissetou Coulibaly (175-G/F-01) posted 27 points to lead the winners. Mali got to a strong start. They secured a 28:13 halftime lead. They fueled a 29:6 run in the final term to secure a comfortable win. Diarrah Sissoko (02) had 17 points for the winners. Mozambique responded with 8 points from Jennifer Sigauque (01).

Zimbabwe - Angola 29-52
Angola secured the second win in Group A. They outgunned Zimbabwe for 2-1 record. Cacia Antonio (162-G-01) came up with 14 points to pace the winners. Angola recorded a 23:17 halftime lead. Angola stretched the margin at 16-point mark heading into the fourth quarter. They kept Zimbabwe at bay throughout the final term and coasted to the win. Nelma Cunha (178-C-02) had 9 points for Angola. Maria Mutengo (01) responded with 8 points for Zimbabwe.

They recorded a 62:10 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the victory. Diarrah Sissoko (02) netted 20 points in the win. Tadiwa Mabika (01) replied with 10 points for Zimbabwe.

Angola outgunned Mozambique for the first victory at the championship. Cristina Lourenco (164-G-01) and Conceicao Caetano (160-G-01) produced 14 points each for the winners. Mozambique claimed a 31:25 halftime lead. Angola however responded with a 25:9 run in the third term to pull ahead. The hosts tried hard to save the game in the final period but came up short at the end. Alexia Dizeko (175-G/F-01) netted 12 points in the victory. Egypt - Zimbabwe 55-46
Egypt rallied past Zimbabwe to improve at 1-1 record in Group A. Fatma Kabil (178-F-02) recorded 11 points to lead the effort. Zimbabwe eked out a 23:22 halftime lead. Egypt went on a 17:10 run in the third term to surge ahead. They kept Zimbabwe at bay throughout the final stanza to race to the victory. Nada Mohamed (169-G-01) and Jana Abdullah delivered 10 points each for Egypt. Tadiwa Mabika responded with 16 points and 19 rebounds for Zimbabwe.
