Mali celebrate title in Monastir

Egypt - Mali 56-57
Mali have been crowned champions in Monastir. They nipped Egypt in the exciting Final battle to earn the eight straight title. Salimata Camara (2007) sank two free throws late in regulation to seal the winning outcome. Mali led by as many as 12 points after ten minutes of action. Egypt pulled within 5 points heading into the fourth quarter. They denied the deficit in the fourth stanza as Joudy Elbaz (180-SF-2008) gave them a 56-55 lead with just 23 seconds remaining. But Mali relied on two free throws from Salimata Camara to conquer the trophy. Assitan Diarisso (2008) finished with 19 points, while Suzane Dembele (2008) posted 12 points for Mali. Malak Elhemaly (181-C-2008) answered with 14 points and 11 rebounds for Egypt.
3-4 Place
Angola - Tunisia 50-43
Angola stepped onto the pedestal in Monastir. They upset hosting Tunisia to claim Bronze medals. Angola posted a 30-20 halftime lead. Tunisia narrowed the gap in the fourth quarter but could not avoid the loss. Ana Servico came up with 24 points and 10 rebounds for Angola. Ines Rejeb (2007) answered with 16 points for Tunisia.
