Rwanda - Mozambique 37-62
Mozambique coasted past Rwanda to take 1-1 record in Group A. Mozambique posted a 22:7 lead ten minutes into the game. Mozambique limited Rwanda to just 14 points in the second half and rallied to the win. Jessie Joaqium (182-C-04) had 20 points and 19 rebounds, while Kisshana Mafassitela (168-F-04) added 15 points in the victory. Lamla Umunezero (156-G-03) replied with 9 points for Rwanda.

Angola - Tanzania 71-48
Angola recorded the third consecutive win in Group A. They eased past Tanzania to gain 3-0 record. Angola recorded a 36:21 halftime lead. Angola maintained the lead throughout the second half and raced to the win. Sara Caetano (172-SF-03) notched 27 points and 9 rebounds, while Teresa Mbemba (178-F-03) added 20 points for Angola. Catherine Mollel (180-F-03) connected for 22 points and 14 rebounds for Tanzania.

Mali - Egypt 88-57
Mali outscored Egypt to clinch the top position in Group B. Mali registered a 43:22 halftime lead. They sank 45 points in the second half and rallied to the victory. Sira Thienou (178-F-04) accounted for 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for Mali. Mariam Coulibaly (179-F-04) added 20 points for the winners. Lojain Elfatairy (164-PG-03) replied with 9 points for Egypt.
