Mali defend the title against Egypt at the AfroBasket U16. They grabbed a 62:61 win as Djeneba N'Diaye (165-PG-97) made one free throw at the end of the game for the final success.
Egypt won the first period 14-12, but Mali replied with massive 22-13 surge in the second frame. Egypt trailed in the whole third period, but managed to reduce to 44:43 after thirty minutes. Nadine Mohamed Sayed Soliman Mohamed gave Egypt a 54:53 lead and then Fatma Mamdouh Aly Tawfik Aly tied the game at 60:60. Djeneba N'Diaye however made one free throw at the end of the game for the final success.
Djeneba N'Diaye top-scored for the winners with 22 points and Adama Coulibaly (191-F-83) notched 14. Mariam Alou Coulibaly collected 12 points and 12 rebounds, whilst Aminata Diakite had 9. Nadine Mohamed Sayed Soliman Mohamed ended up with 22 points in the losing effort, while Fatma Mamdouh Aly Tawfik Aly shot 9. Nouralla Aly Mohamed Talaat Abdelalim poured in 6, whilst Nada Amr Med Monib Elsayed Bayoumi and Radwa Salem Ahmed Sherif had 5.
In 2011 Mali outplayed Egypt 66:54 in the Big Final of U16 AfroBasket. Fanta Dire was the leading player in victory with 21 points. Awa Keita secured a great help adding 19 points and 14 boards.

Tunisia U16- Mozambique U16 46:50


Mozambique clinch Bronze at home court of the AfroBasket U16. They overcame Tunisia 50:46 in the game for the third place.
Mozambique started the game with an 11-9, however could not win the half. Tunisia erupted with a 19-9 surge and grabbed an 8-point advantage at the halftime. Only due to the second half Mozambique managed to win the game. They won the third period 12-6 and finished with an 18-12 rally.
Neidy da Luz Virginia Ocuane top-scored for the winners with 18 points and Silvia Amadeu Veloso netted 12. Dilma Jose Roldao produced 11, whilst Eleuteria Paula Mirandina Lhavanguane had 6. Ikram Jhinaoui answered with 15 points in the losing effort and Nadia Hamzaoui (180-C-97) collected 8 points and 11 rebounds. Ikram Guhiz netted 7, whilst Fatma Aouinet had 5.

Angola U16- Cote d'Ivoire U16 50:38


Angola clinch 5th place in Maputo at the AfroBasket U16. They overcame Cote d'Ivoire 50:38 in the game for 5-6 places.
It was a slow start at the court as both teams scored 7 points in the first period. Cote d'Ivoire took 5:2 lead, but Angola scored 16 points in each of the last three quarters. They won the second period 16-6 as Teresa Ngueve Sacato sent the teams to the lockers for 18:11. Angola won the third period 16-15 and finished the game with a 16-12 run. Eduarda Inacio Gabriel made the final result in the game.
Emanuela Fernandes Mateus stepped up with 9 points for the winners, while Neusa Madalena Candido, Teresa Ngueve Sacato and Eduarda Inacio Gabriel had 7 each. Joana Domingos Antonio followed them with 6 points in a win. Solange Irene Bognini replied with 17 points in a loss, whilst Mariam Kamate, Safietou Kolga and Abiba Kone produced 5 each.

Botswana U16- Gabon U16 21:45


Gabon escape the last spot at the AfroBasket U16. They overcame Botswana 45:21 in the last game and finished 7th in Maputo.
Both teams entered the clash winless. Gabon opened the game with a 14-8 lead, but Botswana tied the game at the halftime due to 8-2 rally in the second period. The third period was decisive in the game as Gabon erupted with a 17-0 surge to seal the victory. They added 12-5 run in the last stanza for the final result.
Marel Erika Guitsinzou Akendengue top-scored for the winners with 13 points and Milame Ilarye Angue notched 9. Hardell Flaure Nang Abagha brought 8, whilst Lucretia Elaine Ibondou-Akanga had 6. Precious Kompase finished the game with 6 points in a loss, whilst Tshegofatso Morotsi had 5. Dorcus Lekoko and Precious Kebonang followed them with 3 points each in defeat.
