Egypt and Mali will meet in the Finals of U16 AfroBasket 2011. Of course the winner will take the Gold at this event. The same teams met in the 2009 Finals and Mali won that year.
Egypt cruised past Angola 72-41 in the Semifinals. Angola somehow managed to resist in the first ten minutes, but Egypt made 28-20 until the halftime. Egypt never looked back after that and their lead was just increasing. They won the last period 22-9 for the final 73-41 victory.
Mai outplayed Tunisia 72-54. The winners started with 19-14 in the first ten minutes and extended their lead to plus seven until the halftime. Wafa Loubiri exploded for Tunisia in Q3 and thanks to his 18 points in this period they came to minus one, 46-45. Mali intensified defense in the last ten minutes and blasted Tunisia 26-9 until the end.
Saturday is the last day of the competition in Egypt.
