U16 AfroBasket will be held in Egypt

U16 AfroBasket 2011 is scheduled to take place in Egypt on July 22-30. Ten teams will participate at the tournament. These are Egypt, Mali, Angola, Algeria, Tunisia, Guinea, Nigeria, DR Congo, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The teams will be divided into two preliminary groups with five teams in each. Four best teams from each group will advance into the quarterfinals. The winners of the tournament will qualify for U17 World Championship in 2012.
Mali are the defending champions. They prevailed against Egypt in the final game of 2009 edition of the tourney.
