Ghana's biggest and most prestigious high school basketball tournament-Sprite Ball Championship- will take place between December 28 and December 30 at the El Wak Stadium in
the nation's capital, Accra with 26 schools set to compete.

In all 16 boys schools and 10 girls' schools will compete for the chance to win the coveted trophy later this month after several dates sufficed to be the tipoff period including December 22-24. However, tournament organizers, Rite Sports Limited stated officially the tenth anniversary celebrations of the game will happen close to the end of the year.

Three schools will make their respective debuts in the competition with Sacred Heart Senior High School being the sole novice in the boys division. West Africa Senior High School and Three Town Senior High School are debutants in the girls division.

Schools are expected to arrive on December 27 and the tournament will be launched the next day before preliminary games begin. Record winners Mfantsipim School is in the final roster and has a chance to extend its record wins.

St. Augustine's College and girls champions Aggrey Memorial Mount Zion, both from the Central Region, will be in Accra to defend their titles as well.

The host teams in Zones 2 and 3 of this year's Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship have qualified to the next round of the competition.
