Regular Season Round 14: KIU Rangers - Magic S. 73-75

The most exciting game of round 14 in the NBL took place in Kampala. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked KIU Rangers (4-4) to ninth ranked Magic S. (2-6) 75-73 on Wednesday evening. Magic S. forced 31 KIU Rangers turnovers. Strangely KIU Rangers outrebounded Magic S. 48-32 including a 38-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Magic S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Daphine Adong who scored 25 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Namugala Jesca chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. The former international forward Sharon Nangobi (170-1996) produced a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds and guard Ines Kanyamunza added 15 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the hosts. Magic S. maintains ninth position with 2-6 record, which they share with Miracle. KIU Rangers at the other side dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Magic S.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kampala Lady Jaguars.
