Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Kigali:Patriots (#2) and Azomco (#7). Azomco was crushed at home by 34 points 51-85 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Patriots held Azomco to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Patriots forced 24 Azomco turnovers and outrebounded them 59-45 including 22 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Damaria Franklin (190-1999, college: Memphis) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds. point guard Hubert Kwizera (184-2004) accounted for 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Malik Matsouka came up with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Jarode Aworet (-2001) added 7 points and 17 rebounds respectively for Azomco in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Patriots have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-3 record having just two point less than leader APR. Azomco at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost.
