Regular Season Round 6: REG - The Hoops 91-51

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Kigali: REG (#1) and The Hoops (#2). REG (6-0) smashed visiting The Hoops (3-2) by 40 points 91-51. REG dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to The Hoops' 30. REG forced 33 The Hoops turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by The Hoops' players. Mali center Kankou Coulibaly (187-1990) notched a double-double by scoring 32 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and the former international Ange Irakoze (181-2003) supported her with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds by DR Congolese forward Feza Ebengo (185-1999) did not help to save the game for The Hoops. Forward Ernestine Uwitonze added 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. REG have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record. The Hoops at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. REG's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kigali Kepler.
