Regular Season Round 1: Kepler - GSMRR 54-42

Very important is a road loss of GSMRR against Kepler on Sunday night. Visiting GSMRR was defeated by Kepler in Kigali 54-42. Kepler held GSMRR to an opponent 23.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Kepler forced 20 GSMRR turnovers. Aitchata Traole stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Nelly Akariza (-2007) chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side Rachel Gikundiro (169-2006) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and Clementine Murekatete scored 14 points and 4 assists. GSMRR's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kepler will meet at home RP-IPRC Huye in the next round. GSMRR will have a break next round.
