Regular Season Round 16: APR - REG 62-88

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Kigali:REG (#1) and APR (#2). APR was smashed at home by 26 points 62-88 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. REG made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 31 APR turnovers. REG players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by APR 's players. The winners were led by the former international point guard Odile Tetero (162-1998) who scored that evening 17 points and 8 assists and Paul Akon supported her with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four REG players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by the former international center Charlotte Umugwaneza (195-1984) did not help to save the game for APR . International point guard Sandra Kantore (174-1993) added 7 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. REG (20-0) have an impressive 16-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 20 victories in a row. APR at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost.
