Rather expected game when 4th rankedRP-IPRC Huye (8-7) was smashed by top-ranked REG (16-0) in Kigali 107-51 on Saturday. REG dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to RP-IPRC Huye 's 44. REG forced 54 RP-IPRC Huye turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Paul Akon notched a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists and 8 steals to lead the effort and Mali Kadidia Maiga (185-1997) supported her with 12 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Five REG players scored in double figures. REG's coach Esperance Mukaneza felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 12 points and 7 rebounds by Liliane Ingabire (170-2008) did not help to save the game for RP-IPRC Huye . The former international Cecile Nzaramba (-1993) added 11 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. REG have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-0 record. RP-IPRC Huye at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with The Hoops.
