Regular Season Round 14: Kepler - REG 43-67

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kigali:REG (#1) and Kepler (#2). Kepler was smashed at home by 24 points 43-67 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. REG forced 28 Kepler turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Kepler 's players. Paul Akon orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Rosine Micomyiza (162-1995) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four REG players scored in double figures. Beninese center Veronica Keita (190-2001) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks and guard Josiane Tcheumeleu added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Kepler. Kepler's coach Rene Sahabu gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. REG (16-0) have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 16 victories in a row. Newly promoted Kepler dropped to the third place with three games lost.
