Regular Season Round 10: UR Kigali - APR 53-97

Very predictable result when third ranked APR (9-2) outscored on the road bottom-ranked UR Kigali (0-11) 97-53 on Saturday. APR dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to UR Kigali's 26 and had 25 for 38 from the free-throw line, while UR Kigali only scored nine points from the stripe. APR forced 30 UR Kigali turnovers and outrebounded them 65-32 including a 27-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. APR looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by UR Kigali's players. Forward Brigitte Nibishaka (175-2006) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Charlotte Umugwaneza (195-1984) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four APR players scored in double figures. APR's coach Charles Mushumba felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Shadia Mugabekazi responded with 14 points and forward Brigitte Wihogora scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. APR have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-2 record behind leader REG. Loser UR Kigali still closes the standings with 11 games lost.
