Regular Season Round 4: UGB - Orion 65-53

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Kigali:UGB (#7) and Orion (#6). UGB (2-3) won against visiting Orion (1-4) 65-53 . UGB forced 29 Orion turnovers. Strangely Orion outrebounded UGB 48-33 including 37 on the defensive glass. Burundian center Mohamed Doumbya (-1997) nailed 16 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and French-Central African power forward Steven-Emile Perriere (203-1995, college: LMU) accounted for 13 points and 9 rebounds. Kennedy Garba came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks and Cameroonian Engelbert Beleck (192-1998) added 10 points, 6 assists and 5 steals respectively for Orion in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UGB moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tigers. Orion lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost.
