Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Kigali:REG and Espoir . REG smashed visiting Espoir by 34 points 92-58 . REG forced 28 Espoir turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Cleveland Thomas (192-1993, college: WKU, agency: Slash Sports) scored 17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Senegalese point guard Jean-Jacques Boissy (183-2000) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists during the contest. Eric Muhayumukiza (-1995) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and center Fortunate Mwanawabene (-1998) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
