Al Ahly (12-1) recorded its first loss on the court of second ranked Alexandria on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Alexandria 84-81 . It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Al Ahly. Alexandria looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Hagar Amer (184-1993) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Hala El-Shaarawy (185-1993, college: St.Peter's) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Nadine Soliman (178-1998, college: UNCG) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and the former international power forward Raneem Elgedawy (193-1997, college: WKU) added 18 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Alexandria (13-1) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place behind leader NBEC. Defending champion Al Ahly keeps the third position with one game lost.
