There was a minor upset in Alexandria where 8th rankedHeliopolis (5-7) were defeated by tenth ranked Somouha (5-7) 74-61 on Saturday. Somouha dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Heliopolis ' 26. Somouha forced 27 Heliopolis turnovers. Hania Naser fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Reem Awad (170-1993) chipped in 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Somouha's coach Mahmoud Emad used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international forward Aya Elfiky (179-2003) produced 7 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Malak Gamaleldin (169-2002) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Somouha moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Shooting and Heliopolis.
