Regular Season Round 14: WE Sporting - Zamalek 70-80

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Cairo:Zamalek (#8) and WE Sporting (#6). WE Sporting was defeated at home 70-80 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Strangely WE Sporting outrebounded Zamalek 43-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Adam Moussa (190-2002, college: CBU) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 5 assists. Center Hazem Elmashad (206-1999) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four Zamalek players scored in double figures. American point guard Kenny Brown (183, college: Co.Georgia) came up with 17 points and 7 assists and Omar Attia (189-1997) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for WE Sporting in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zamalek (7-7) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated WE Sporting .
