Everything could happen in Cairo at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh rankedAl Gezira and 9th ranked Smouha had identical 6-7 record. This time Al Gezira used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Smouha 69-63 . It was an exceptional evening for American guard Cleveland Thomas (192-1993, college: WKU, agency: Slash Sports) who led the winners and scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Sameh Romeh accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Al Gezira players scored in double figures. Ahmed Khanka came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and Abdelrahman Samir added 16 points respectively for Smouha in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Al Gezira (7-7) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Smouha at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Al Zohour.
