Very expected game in Cairo where 15th rankedPetrojet (1-11) was defeated by ninth ranked Al Gezira (6-6) 80-75 on Friday. Al Gezira outrebounded Petrojet 45-29 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ahmed Samy stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners and Abdelfadil Ebrahim chipped in 13 points and 15 rebounds. American-Palestinian Kyndall Dykes (192-1987, college: New Orleans, agency: Slash Sports) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Ayman Chawkat scored 16 points and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Al Gezira . They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with WE Sporting. Petrojet lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 11 games lost.
