Very expected game when 14th rankedAviation (1-9) lost to third ranked Canal (9-2) in Cairo 59-69 on Wednesday. Canal dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Aviation 's 24. Canal forced 19 Aviation turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Madarious Gibbs (185-1993, college: Texas Southern) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals. Ahmed Shaaban accounted for 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Canal's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Abdallah Ibrahim came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Gamal Hesham added 17 points respectively for Aviation in the defeat. Newly promoted Canal maintains third place with 9-2 record behind leader Al Ittihad Al. Aviation lost eighth consecutive game. Aviation at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Petrojet.
